I have 50lbs to lose and I am currently using a shake morning and evening with salads and water - lost 6lb this week on week 1. Program suggests no exercise first month but I have an exercise bike and would be interested to hear from anyone else who has used this type of program.

Could 4lbs over the weight limit damage an exercise bike?

I got a new exercise indoor bike, the weight limit is 276lb, but I weigh 273lb. But with my workout clothes on, and having consumed water I will weigh around 280.
Is it too risky to use it?

If you dont want to risk it,you could walk or cycle outside for a few weeks and watch your diet to lose 5-6lbs,and then it should be safe.
When you're 273lbs it's pretty easy to drop 5-10 pounds in 2-3 weeks.
