I think it's Keiser, but maybe someone has a better idea? I want to buy a stationary upright exercise bike for home, but I'm having trouble finding a used Keiser bike for sale in my area. Is there another brand that's just as good or better?

Answer
The Schwinn Airdyne or Aerodyne or soemthing like that has been a staple of exercise bikes for awhile. Assuming you want an exercise bike, and not a Spin bike

How to choose between upright and recumbent exercise bike?

mongersmom

I have a sit-down job at home and have heel spurs on both feet, which doesn't help my morbid obesity. I want to get an exercise bike for when my feet really hurt, but would like to know opinions on upright versus recumbent exercise bikes. Recumbent might be easier on the tushie and I could use hand weights more readily, but an upright is a little smaller. Help!

Answer
I like the upright better personally, it may not be as comfortable but you get a better workout with it and it is more versatile. I only use the recumbent bike at the gym when I am cooling down from a very vigorous workout. Either one will help, but my vote goes for the upright for the following reasons.
-Smaller footprint (it'll take up less room)
-More versatile (you can do many different angles and it works you harder)
-Cheaper (you can get an everlast upright for less than $150 new)

As far as your heel spurs go you are going to have to try out both bikes if neither one hurts you, go with the upright.

I have had a good schwinn that I beat into the ground and finally broke off the pedel. I am a middle age person who if pretty fit, usually jogs, but wants a good quaility bike that you can stand up to do a workout. I am willing to spend some money, but looking for a good bike. If anyone has any comments, please let me know. Serious ones please as I am stiving for even better health and fitness. Thanks!

What's the best exercise bike to buy for my home?

QuestionAs

I want something I can get a good workout on and that won't fall apart, but probably only looking to spend $300-600.

Which bike should I get? And where should I get it (particular website? Better to buy it at a store?)?

I'm looking for an upright bike.

Thanks for the help!

Answer
Get one with only one wheel...I know...the other exercise bikes I've owned that have two wheels usually cause trouble inside the house.

Damn...I crack myself up!
