I'm a 17 year old girl and very healthy/athletic but I'm trying to drop 10 pounds before cross country season. I have done better in the past at slightly lower weight than I am now.
I'm 5'10"-ish. Maaybe an inch taller. Currently I weigh 145. I want to be at 135 before September. 135 is a healthy, reasonable goal for me. I weighed about that last year at the same height.
For exercise I do:
1 or 2 runs a day. Between 3 and 7 miles varying intensities.
1 bike ride a day, about 6 miles not too hard
Insanity videos on Monday, Wednesday, Friday
Weight lifting on Tuesday, Thursday
I have been exercising this much for about a month, but I've been eating junk so I've just maintained instead of losing.

Changes in my diet started this week:
No pop, energy drinks, etc. Only drinking water (a lot), milk, and juice
Extremely limited sweets (ice cream, cookies, etc). Only eat once a week or so.
Substituting fruit/veggie snacks for chips/crackers
One meal a day will be replaced with a protein shake.
The other two meals will be well balanced and healthy. No frozen pizza, etc.

Will i be able to lose 10 lbs before September following this plan?
I won't calorie count, by the way. I'm just planning on eating super clean and not processed. Any other suggestions to help me? Diet supplements? I've never really tried to lose weight before so I'm at a loss.

Answer

How bad is little to no sleep?

Lorenzo

For the past 2 nights i have only slept for 4 hours and have done a lot of exercise in the daytime. This is the 3rd night now and its 5:57 AM im going the night (by choice) with no sleep and i am expecting to do a 7 mile bike ride (cardio exercise) and then rest after that. Should i be worried about anything? Any health issues? Or if i do get sleep after the bike ride and then get back on a regular schedule will i be okay? I dont know if it matters but i am 16.

Answer
Lack of sleep can cause neurologic problems and even permanent brain damage.
