To lose weight, you'll need to burn more calories per day than the calories you take in. The quickest approach would be daily exercise and reducing your daily intake of calories. Lose the sweets or eat things very low in sugar (e.g., sugar-free gum). This also means no soft drinks... even diet soft drinks as they may screw up your metabolism. You can try drinks with stevia if you want. I'm not sure if splenda does anything your metabolism or not.
You'll also want to start exercising. If you hate running, then try a stationary bike or an elliptical. Do this 30 minutes a for 3-4 days a week. If you're too tired on the first day, or if you can't manage to do 30mins in one session. I would do it in several sessions. As your body gets accustomed to the exercising, you can do more if you wish. When taking your heart rate, you'll want it to be around 24-27 per 10s measure. You don't need a machine either. You can run around your neighbhood block, jump rope, jumping jacks, anything to get your heart rate up at a constant rate.
Next, I would drastically change your diet. No more fried foods. No big sandwiches. Well-rounded meals with a protein and a couple carb sources high in fiber (e.g., rice, bean). You don't have to be real strict with this unless you're not seeing any changes with your exercising. The most important thing to remove is the fatty and high carb foods.

What new hobby should I take up during the summer?
BZEK
Something like: start reading manga, take up yoga, watch dramas, etc.
Answer
Exercise. Start out light and add intensity as you get stronger. Don't overdo it - over-stressing your muscles makes them hurt, which makes you have to skip workouts, which breaks you momentum and makes you less likely to persevere. I suggest Zumba, it's a lot of fun and is offered at many gyms and community centers. Biking is fun and easier on your knees and ankles. Swimming works every muscle group, as does running, but swimming is easier on the joints.
If you really want to start reading manga, here's a few tips.
1. Don't force yourself to read something just because everyone else is reading it. Read something YOU are interested in.
2. Take note of how long the series is, BEFORE you start reading. Series like Deathnote are fairly short (12 books, ten or fifteen chapters per book) while series like One Piece are very long (500+ chapters and counting. 0_0)
3. Don't be afraid to try new things! Anime and manga are full of interesting concepts that you may not bee familiar with. Worse come to worst you can always stop reading and start something else.
4. Allow me to preface this: I SUPPORT BUYING OFFICIAL MANGA RELEASES. HOWEVER: if you're not sure if you'll like a series, look it up online. www.mangafox.com has a lot of scanlated (scanned in and translated by fans) manga up for free. Read the first couple chapters, then buy what you like. Buying manga encourages companies to make it available to people in countries other than Japan, and helps to keep the industry going so your favorite authors/artists stay employed and producing, so it's always good to buy manga.
